I gave out copies of The Book Thief in 2012, but not been a book giver since. Not sure what’s happening as they changed things a bit last year.

A few people have asked what it is…….. It is an international night where people are encouraged to read, get together to discuss books, give out books etc. Different countries and places within do different things. For example where I live in Brighton UK our local library will be having a photo booth where you can have your pic taken with your current read……pics then put on collage on wall. Other local libraries near me are having book quiz nights. You can also volunteer to give out free books. Some people just get together with friends for a ‘bookish’ evening they arrange themselves.
I think the date was chosen to coincide with the birth/death date of Shakespeare. Anyway I recommend everyone to google World Book Night 2018 to see if their local community is participating. X
