It depends. There are two types of opinion on this (and also about Dan Brown in general).
There is a group who freaking love it, and then there is the other, who will greatly disregard his work.
Give it a shot, in a matter of few pages, you will get to know if this is for you or not.
A rough guide is that Dan Brown books are page-turners. If you are not expecting anything critically invigorating, you should be fine with Dan Brown.
PS: No matter which side you find yourself in, it is not a bad idea to try to hear what the other side may have to say, why they didn’t/did like Dan Brown’s books. It can often be insightful about the reader in all of us.
That’s a lot of positive feedback! I hated the Davinci Code, but it was more my distaste of Brown’s writing abilities than the story, and I doubt his style has changed much. Still, I may have to give Angels and Demons a shot, just to see what the hubub is…
