For me, many of her books feel like mass market type books. I do enjoy her (predictable) series that take place in Ireland (there are a few, I believe). I read Jewels of the Sun Trilogy. Quick reads when you need something light.

I like her trilogies that had a mystical element. Forget the names but there was one where all the women were witches can’t think what the other was about . Easy and quick to get through when you want some light reading.

Three sister island. Loved it!

She also writes the In Death series under the name JD Robb about a homicide lieutenant in NYC. Set a little in the future in the 2050s. Love those books.

Has anyone read Salman Rushdie’s book The Golden House? I picked it up from the library but now I am not sure that I want to go into it?

You are right, I guess I put my question in the wrong place.

All I would have been interested in would have been a couple. ButI guess I will have to figure it out on my own.

Love her books. So easy to read. Her trilogies are great. I pass them on to my daughter @Cheryl . My favourite are her in Death series written under her pen name JDRobb. I think she’s up to book 36 in the series.

I can’t really get into her stuff under her own name but LOVE her J.D. Robb In Death series.

A lot of sex scenes, my sister calls her books f**k books. I read one and agreed, but they might be fun between other heavy books. I saw her interviewed on tv once. She is over the top wealthy

Ugh if you want F books she is Vanilla compared to JD WARD ?

0
Bonnie

I don’t, that’s why I only read one. I don’t mind it if it’s part of a great book but that isn’t what I look for.

Kimberly

That’s FUNNY. I would never classify her books as F books lol

Girley romance books. Light beach reads. Generally well written with real plots.

She is the epitome of romance novelists.

(Blows on fingers like Tom Hanks in ‘You’ve Got Mail’) I am in love with her books.
She writes about everything from Wild Wild West (Lawless) to vampires and sorcerers. She’ll literally make you believe that vampires could be real and that raw love is real.

She doesn’t sugar coat the love stories. These are real people with true emotions and situations. She’ll leave you hurting for the characters and in suspense of a battle scene.

I suggest starting with Lawless then perhaps a trilogy. She’s infamous for writing trilogies.

What I love also is that she does research before writing. For example, you believe the character is Russian because she has done her homework and mentions multiple things that only a Russian or someone whose interviewed a Russian would know.

I have never read her books although I mean too. She’s on my TBR list. I watched a movie based on her book, Tribute and although a little predictable, I loved it. So she’s definitely on my list

Most are formulaic and easy reads, good for escape. A few are more interesting and show more depth, such as Chasing Fire, The Witness, The Collector, and The Obsession.

I’ve read most of her work…she is good. I would suggest her earlier work though. It seems like over the years sh s gotten really formulaic-everything feels like different shades of the same…solid beach or casual read.

JD Robb books are the only books that i buy in hardback!!
Love this series. It about 45 books in this series!

The Nora Robert books I like to wait until the 3 book series is finish! Then read then.

There are so many of her books. The Library is the best place to get them.

Cool girl with interesting job meets hunky dork and they hit it off while solving some type of crisis. I’ve read like 50 of her books. Her older novels are more Harlequin Romance type stuff where the main character was less dimensional and the man saved her and whisked her away. In her newer stuff, the main character is more self-sufficient and doesn’t NEED the dude but they fall in love anyway. One of my favorites by her is The Reef. It’s about treasure hunters and I loved the dynamic between the lead characters. If you’re into a Lifetime Movie of a novel, give her a try 🙂

Romances. Pretty lightweight stuff. Her later works (sine the late 90s) lean more and more into magic/sorcery/the occult. Well written, yes a little formulatic but well done. Definitely not the worst out there, and the sex is MILD compared to some others.

I’ve read a ton of her books and Ive loved all of them! I’ve read the JD Robb books as well. My favorite has to be the obsession that just came out, murder mystery type, or the search. But anything you decide on should be good, if you want more of a romance option over the mystery, the bride quartet is a good read and the o’hurleys ? enjoy!
