I will adore that book beyond the end of days. For your first read, I would advise to stay in the moment rather than worry about the story itself.

YES!! Ignore those saying no. However, I agree with Melinda Miller. Go through it slowly, and yes, actually read the footnotes/end notes. It took me 6 months to get through it (you can’t read binge-read this one), but it’s definitely worth it.

Don’t be surprised when you finally finish, that you want even more DFW. Read the rest of his work too….
