I gave my first book that was paperback i think to a friend of mine. Then I picked up and tried from the library the same version I have. Then I got my own edition that came with the cd to it.
@Lisa yes the show stayed right with the books I was impressed I read books before watching show I still love it . This season did change some from the book
What i’m interested in is how well she did her research on each segment. What got me is how Enterainment weekly gave me is little snippets of the episodes so i’m stuck waiting on getting to watch 7 but i have all but that and 12
I picked it up at least 5 times and could only get so far. Then I watched the first season of the show and made it a point to finally read it. I absolutely loved it and read them all in the span of 6 months. That first one was slow at first.
Yeah I did but before watching the show I dredged through the vase part 4 times. ? I guess seeing the characters helped understand because I know in my mind I had Clair pegged almost elderly. I’m not sure why.
Yes. I liked the story but found myself flipping through pages that said the same thing. I made it through 4 books. Now I love the show but won’t go back to the books. Unpopular opinion but ….
Yup. After a few chapters moved on.
I have made it to chapter 3 so far
The first few chapters are a struggle but once it gets going it’s hard to put down!
Which edition did you read Sarah? I have the 20th hard back plush edition so it’s a big book
I couldn’t tell you honestly. I’ve reread the book multiple times and have to replace it a few times as well.

Thing is I watched the show before I read the books Kelli so i’m noticing more of the streamline of the show is very close to the book

I definitely remember thinking “what the heck is the fuss with this book??!”
And the entire vase part bored me to death. ?

I was the same, found it a lot easier to read after having watched the show

Yeah the show gives you more of a visiual but the books also give more details compared to the show
@Lisa by visual are you refering to the delish Sam Heughan
@Jo I’m loving that visual for sure lol ?
@Jo lol yep he looks good
@Kelli how could any woman not have a visual like that?
@Lisa I know right
I’ve read them all and loved them ?
how long did it take for you to trudge through it Claire?
@Lisa not long at all I think book 3 took me the longest . Now I’m waiting not patiently for the next one in the series .
next one? Claire the whole series is out already
@Lisa she is writing the next one it takes about 3 yrs between each book
There’s another one after “Writen in my Own Heart’s Blood”?
She is writing it ATM
Now i need to do research…
@Lisa go tell the bees I am gone hopefully this year
Here i thought she was done with the series
@Lisa I think she is planning on 10 books in the series !
I just went on Wikipedia and your right…
I loved the first book. After that not as much. I’ve read all but the last two and own the next to last, but am in no hurry to get to it.
Stopped reading it. Just not that good.
I dnf it
DNF for me.
I am reading now.
It is slow to start with, bit once shes through the stones its brilliant.
A friend brought me her copy of Outlander one morning and i handed it back to her the next morning finished. Loved it
I skimmed through the politics and history
I gave up. So slooooow…
Loved the books. Book 2 was my least favorite. Can’t wait for the new book to come out.
I enjoyed Book 1, trudged through Book 2, and then went on to read other stuff.
I know the feeling. I lasted a few more of the books, but have the next and am in no hurry to tackle it.
what is the new book coming out, may I ask?
Book 9 don’t tell the bees I’m gone hopefully this year
I really enjoy that series , they are not the fastest reads how ever but i tend to enjoy time slips and old country type stuff
