I’m looking for recommendations for what some people might call Chick Lit.
Hi everyone! I’m looking for recommendations for what some people might call Chick Lit. I read a lot so have read most of the well known authors and would appreciate any recs for less well known books. Anything light about family, friends, romance…that kind of thing. Thank you!!!
The Mitford series by Jan Karon. Or just for the fun of it any/all Mary Kay Andrews books…Enjoy!
Katie Fforde’s early books. Susan Elizabeth Phillips.
My daughter and I love Phillips—she is so funny!
Fiona Gibson smarter than average but still light and funny. While I wouldn’t define it as chick lit, The Forgotten Waltz by Anne Enright is on the subject of relationships and an affair. Very well written with dark humour and an interesting timeline structure. Maria Semple’s novels have had good write ups too.
LaVyrle Spencer, Sherryl Woods, Kristin Higgins, Nora Roberts has lots of trilogies, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Caroline Roberts, Sophie Kinsella, Jojo Moyes, Marian Keyes, Rosamund Pilcher & Maeve Binchy!
Rita Huron, Melinda Leigh, Mary Burton, Sarah Jio and Kate Furnivall

I find Nora Roberts and Danielle Steel to fall mostly in the Chick Lit genre…. Debbie Macomber, too.
You also might want to check out the “cozy mystery” genre – many of those may be similar to Chick Lit style/genre books.
Neanderthal Seeks Human is the first book in a great chick lit series

Sophie Kinsella is my favourite chicklit author, I think her books are hilarious, especially Undomestic Goddess which is my favourite. Also Meg Cabot’s books are very funny, especially The Boy Next Door, which is told entirely in emails and is hilarious, and Every Boy’s Got One, which is told in emails and texts and is also very funny.
Kim Gruenenfelder! Start with A Total Waste if Make Up
Jodi Thomas
I just read I Heart New York and liked it. It’s very chick lit and a little predictable but a fun easy read.
