Okey, well The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, Spain, The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, Ireland/GB, The Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino, Italy, The Dwarf by Per Lagerkvist, Sweden, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson, Sweden, Miss Smilla’s Sense for Snow by Peter Hoeg, Denmark, The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski, Poland. Some completely different books from very different countries that I just happen to like 🙂
Yeah I looked it up, it’s on my tbr list already ? The answer was for your question “Any gendre?” – don’t have fav gendre, just don’t like Nicholas Sparks type of books (hope you understand me) ?
Well, I’m sure I could come up with a few more but at the moment that’s all I could think off the top of my head. I see that we more or less share a common like in books. Happy reading ?
You are welcome! Hope it’s a good one. Let me (us) know how you like it. I was kind of interested in it a while ago but never picked it up. My tbr list is neverending, I’ve come to terms that I will probably never finish it.
Lol. Yeah, I know the feeling! I reread The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson in anticipation of Oathbringer, the next book in the series. All 1,000+ pages. If you haven’t read them, I highly recommend them, and anything else written by him.
Jo Nesbo’s Harry Hole series (Norway). Sara Blaedel’s The Forgotten Girls is second book in a series, great read! (Denmark). Tana French’s Dublin Murder Squad series is fantastic! (Ireland). Carlos Ruiz Zafón’s The Cemetery of Lost Books is a fascinating series of four Gothic novels (Spain).
Wow, that’s a broad category. Any preferences? Genre? Modern or classical? South or north?
No romances ? any other gender is fine. Anywhere from Europe ?

Thanks a lot! ? I’ve read The girl with the dragon tattoo and I’ll look up the others!
Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, by Patrick Suskind.
I’ve read that a couple years ago ? (one of my fav btw ❤)
Any genre?
Let The Right One In, by John Ajvide Lindqvist
Don’t like cheezy stories/romances. Everything else is fine ?
This book is nowhere near to being cheesy, lol. It’s… a “different” kind of vampire novel. There are two movies based on it. Both are great.
Yeah I looked it up, it’s on my tbr list already ?

Totally understand. I don’t like them either ?
Thank you for all your recommendations! ? Christmas is coming ??
You are welcome! ?
I have a few more if you don’t mind. Lol
Pass it on! ?
The Neverending Story, by Michael Ende.
Inkheart, by Cornelia Funke
His Dark Materials trilogy, by Philip Pullman.
He is Russian, not European but the World of Watches series by Sergei Lukyanenko is amazing.
Night Watch
Day Watch
Twilight Watch
Final Watch
The Children of Men, by PD James. Great novel. Post apocalyptic, epistolary novel. If you can get past the format, it is a great story.
The Prestige, by Christopher Priest. There’s a great movie based on it directed by Christopher Nolan.
I’ve read this one as well ???
Blindness
Death with Interruptions,
both by José Saramago.
Well, I’m sure I could come up with a few more but at the moment that’s all I could think off the top of my head. I see that we more or less share a common like in books. Happy reading ?
Thank you SO MUCH for your time! ? I’m starting with this one first, but will catch up with the recommendations ?
You are welcome!

I will! ? (Saw the movie and I was amazed so I had to get the book) same here, just adding more and more books….
The book is incredible!!! Highly recommened! ?
Great! Thanks for letting me know ?
Did you finish it already?
Yeah in one day ?
Lol. That’s great. I wish I could read a book a day. I’m about halfway through a 600 page book.
Tell me about it. ? I’ve been stuck with the game of thrones books in the past year ? 25% through the 5th book!! (1000+ pages)
Lol. Yeah, I know the feeling! I reread The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson in anticipation of Oathbringer, the next book in the series. All 1,000+ pages. If you haven’t read them, I highly recommend them, and anything else written by him.
Thanks! I’ll read them next year ?
