Absolutely love it. Luxuriate in it.
I loved it! Read it a few years back. I try to read one classic per year!
Fabulous indulgent book…a real treat to read x
Enjoy every page. I’d love to be reading this for the first time!
My favorite book of all time… read at least 5 times over many years.. possibly the best love story ever written!! Did I mention I ❤️ it?? ?
My absolute favorite book
Loved it! Not a difficult read! It’s very compelling !
Keep going… once you’ve established the characters, the story will just carry you.
A wonderful book. No effort required to get through it
The beginning is setting the foundation. It will take off and you’ll love it.
That was my first long classic novel. I read it in 7th grade and 50 years later can still remember the book cover and how I read late at night because I couldn’t put in down.
@Kit, I think I was about the same age. It still ranks as one of my top five favorite books!
@Kit me too! Over 50 years ago when I was 15. Stayed up all night on a school night. Mom never knew…
@Kit – same story here. I was a young teen and stayed in my room reading late into the night. Totally immersed. I remember feeling despondent that my life was so mundane compared to Scarlett O’Hara’s.
Loved book and movie
My mom read the book recently and hasn’t stopped talking about it
My all time favorite!!!
I really Enjoyed It couldn’t put it down !!
Great book
Loved it!
Never read it! Guess that will go on my TBR list!
Reading it now for the first time. Almost finished with it. It really is so good! ❤️
It is my favorite book. I read it every year.
Easily my favorite book and favorite movie EVER!!!
Read that when I was about 12. It was probably my first “adult” book. I can remember laying in the grass in my back yard devouring it!!
Thank you everyone, I can’t wait to get stuck into it now ❤️
500 pages of the whining of Scarlett O’hara….
It’s fabulous. I have read it couple of times.
You will love it.
One of the best books ever. One of the very few I have reread. Don’t like any of the so-called sequels however.
My favourite of all time too
Loved it
Best book ever …enjoy
Loved it!
Loved it!
I’ve read it 15 times
I loved it!
@Linda that has to be a record lol
@Betty I started reading it as a young girl and reread it periodically.
Hmm. I’ve been thinking I should read this classic so now just bought it on my kindle.
Loved it.
Nobody ever lends money to a man with a sense of humour
Wonderful book!
Loved it.?
My favorite book,
I read it in my teens. Totally engrossing.
I loved it, don’t be daunted. You’ll be sorry when it’s finished. I also read a sequel that was written by someone else, can’t remember who
Adding it!
It is really good! I’ve read it several times over the years.
my favourite all time book
Read it for the first time age 10 in less than 2 weeks… Loved it and have read it several times in following 50 years
Loved it! It’s so much better than the movie. And that’s saying something. I love the movie too. When you finish it read Scarlett.
Then read Rhett Butler’s People
It was a little hard to get through, and of course I’ve seen the movie, before ever reading the book, but it was good and gave a deeper insight into Scarlett
My favorite book of all time. I’ve read it 5 times. I love the mix of a romance, a history lesson, and the art of military combat lol
Magnificent book and movie. Scarlett is a fantastic character.
I read it when I was very young—one of those books you never forget. I’m thinking of rereading it.
Such a fantastic book….I read it in my teens and it’s still with me.
My favorite
Great book. After that read Scarlett
I read it twice as a teen and once on Audible as an adult. It inspired one section in my own book that I wrote with time travel . ?
I read it every year. It’s my favorite book of the thousands I have read.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
So much so that I did a research paper on it MANY years ago: “The Spirit of the Confederacy as Reflected in Gone With the Wind”. Not a politically correct title these days.
Loved it!
Best ever.
My all time favorite! I wore out 3 copies of it in high school!
It’s one of my favorites!
I absolutely LOVED it! I took that book with me everywhere because I didn’t want to stop reading it! It was the best book of my life. I read it in December of 2012 and then went on to become obsessed with the movie as well. I’m actually a little bit jealous. I wish I could experience a book that magnificent for the first time again! Don’t be daunted. Savor every page. ?
I felt the same and ended up loving it…. did not want it to end
Omg lucky you, an amazing experience awaits you. It isn’t just a book, it’s a way of life!
Classic ?
Loved it. Cried really hard it it as well. It is amazing.
Love it!
It’s addictive reading! Loved it and read it many times!
My favorite book of all time! I think I read it 3 times…
Great till you get to the war bit. I gave up at that point. Soooooo tedious.
One of my favorites ?
It was really hard to get into at first but once the war started it was an awesome read.
I read Gone With the Wind 60 yrs ago when I was ten. My first “adult book” and I loved it.
Pretty much the same here…..making me think to read it again and see if I still love it as much as I did then.
One of my favorite books ever. You won’t be disappointed. It’s amazing!
i took a break when the war ended, then picked it back up after a month. I found it daunting, not even sure why people re read this.
Loved it. But read it when I was 18.
Loved it. First read as a teen, read again in my 20’s and again in my 40’s.
Read the book in high school many years ago. Have seen the movie several times. It is a classic tale of the “old south,” romanticized to a great extent. Who wouldn’t want to live like the people did on these plantations. Except, of course, if you were s slave. Says it all.
I read it every year when I was in high school, for some reason it captivated me. Of course this was in 1964-1968 and my reading experience wasn’t as broad as it is now. I may have to pull it out and read it again.
I read it in school. I loved it! I was so angry with Scarlett at one point in the book I wouldn’t read it for a couple of weeks ?
Best book I ever read.
I read the book years ago and have seen the movie . It is a classic for sure. The character of Scarlett was a woman determined to be a survivor no matter the obstacles. A good book!
@Nancy Scarlett was ahead of her time. She would fit in better in today’s world.
It’s a true classic
Loved it when I first read it as a teen. Have read it twice since. Movie was good too. Not big on historical but this is definitely an exception.
Read it when I was 13 and loved it
So not like the film.
Me too. Tho it’s not the biggest book I’ve read. I have the sequel too. Found at goodwill. Good hardback copies, too.
It is my favourite book – keep going as it does draw you in!
One of the best books ever! I wish I still had my copy to re-read
I’ve read it many times, I’ve worn out a copy. My favorite book and movie-I have a special edition of the movie.
It’s fabulous – a true classic
@Judith supposedly you invited me to join!
@Frances ?
I’ve read it 15 times. Love it
My all time favorite. Read it twice
I read it many years ago. It is a wonderful book!
I remember reading this when I was a very young woman. I think I didn’t leave my room for the two days it took me to read the book
I read it in one day while I was in high school. I see nothing daunting about long books. Read one page at a time, just like every other book.
