It’s hard going, but I did stick out, I know what you mean

Why stick with it if you are not enjoying it? Life’s too short.

Have not read it, but as an author, I agree with this sentiment. I would hate anyone to struggle on with a book of mine if they weren’t enjoying it (and plenty of readers don’t like my writing – horses for courses and all that):

Well I didn’t know that, Neil, but I am glad you took Atwood Townsend’s advice! Let’s hope you don’t need it with Remorseless if you do read it. Looking forward to hearing your views. All my fingers are crossed. 🙂

I gave up on Roy Grace books a while back so no surprise here (I loved the early books). Give up and start another you enjoy…

I would give up if I’d got to 150 pages.
100 pages is my mark. I never used to give up on books but I have so many to read

That’s about as far as I got last week, I read the last chapter and it covered it all. Pile of poo considering as I really rate his other books.

Not rude at all, I read all I needed to and I did understand it, I just didn’t like it unlike a lot of his other books which I think are brilliant.

Peter James early books used to be quite good. I found that after sticking with the RG series until book 9, i was considering sticking needles in my eyes, so i had to give up 🙂

I advise you to read The Alchemist by Peter, it’s brilliant and I think Absolute Proof is a rehash of sorts of that.

Did you mean Paulo Coelho’s ‘The Alchemist‘ Linda?

Linda

@A.j. no Peter wrote a book called that as well, very similar to Absolute Proof.

No point reading a book if you are not enjoying it. Perhaps give it to a friend?

I interviewed Peter James a while back & he told me that ‘Absolute Truth’ was ten years in the making, so obviously carefully plotted. Maybe leave it for a few months & go back to it, if you still don’t like it the second time give it away ? x
