I’m in need of a new series to read. Preferably one with a lot of books already published in it. Anyone have some ideas?

@Kimberley she has stand alones and The Mitchell/O’Haras then The Butlers and she then brings the two series together. Gritty, gangster style, think The Krays so swearing violence etc, great series! Xxx

Most welcome but don’t start them if you have any plans. The Butler ones are my absolute fav xxx

1
StephanieQuestion author

That’s exactly what I need!

1
Llainy

I suggest begining with the Butlers but you may want to go by date written but you can start with either but dont read Tainted Love til you have read the mitchells and butlers as I am sure thats the last book that brings them all together is that right @Kimberley? @Debbie? Xxx

Sorry no, Backstabber IS the finale, they listed that as a standalone so you can read the 4 butlers, then the mitchells or vice versa and then Backstabber is the last that brings them together xxx

Kimberley

Thanks Llainy x

StephanieQuestion author

Is Backstabber the only stand alone that relates to either series?

1
Kimberley

@Stephanie Backstabber isn’t a standalone. It ties up both series

1
Llainy

Yes @Stephanie they prob put it in the novel/stand alone because it is both a butler and mitchell book but it is actually the series finale xxx

Karen Rose if you don’t mind romance with your suspense. She’s got about 20 books in overlapping series’ out. First one is Don’t Tell. All fab in my opinion. Mo Hayder also – her jack caffrey series is fantastic! First one is Birdman. Malcolm Hollingdrake’s series is also great – 4 out in that one with next one due out soon.

John Le Carre. If, like me you are mainly familiar with George Smiley as played by Alex Guinness, the quality of his writing will come as a revelation. Easily found in charity shops, and each bok has a list of titles so you know where you are. I had to buy The Spy who came in from the Cold, but only 2p on Amazon
