I’m FINALLY getting back into reading after my divorce. Do you guys count graphic novels towards your Goodreads goal?

My constant answer when folks ask this about graphic novels, audio, whatever, is please explain who it hurts if I do? Like, I’m not turning in my challenge for a grade at the end of the year, I am encouraging myself to read because it brings me joy. Joy has no rules! So if reading graphic novels brings you joy and you want to track them, do it! If you are trying to encourage yourself to read something else, don’t! It’s your challenge and your joy. You do you!

So glad you’re back to reading, Courtney❤️ I definitely count graphic novels. I always say if it’s listed on GoodReads, I’ll count it. Even if it’s an ingredients list ?

No. I’m counting books with more words than pictures, so I don’t count picture books as well 🙂 I read lots of those

As long as the book is on Goodreads, I count it, no matter what type or format
