The two movies are a genuine disappointment but the books are a lot of fun and if you like the style of writing, I would definitely recommend checking out the Trials of Apollo (set after the Heroes of Olympus) and The Cane Chronicles (before HOO).
I did Percy this summer , and almost read half of Clash of Kings. GOT is hard to read all they way at once for me. Idk why. Think it’s becasue I’ll never reach my reading goal.
I think go for Percy Jackson because you’ll be able to fly through them if you like them unlike GoT. GoT is a full on life commitment xD the books are pretty big & there’s a lot to keep track of.Plus Percy Jackson is lighter & funnier.
Percy Jackson <3 I haven't read GoT or watched it (no desire at the moment) ... but I will say if you're looking for light reading this month, PJ is the way to go. If you don't mind heavier reading, GoT is pretty popular so it must be pretty decent 🙂
I have to say both of them. Can’t really compare the two since GOT is a high fantasy with a complex storyline, while Percy Jackson is a light-hearted YA fantasy read

Elizabeth Fox, it certainly is! I also enjoyed The Kane Chronicles. Needless to say, I was reading Rick Riordan’s books for a loooong time! (I am quite old, but my grandson was reading them, so I wanted to be able to discuss them with him. I loved them all! I taught in a high school, and really like teenagers, so that was appealing to me also.)

I had to read a few chapters & then go read something else for a while & come back to it, but I eventually made it through the whole series. Oddly enough, I’m still working on getting through Percy Jackson.
Heavy or light reading. Its not easy even for me but I’ll go for light reading if its a good day. If its a great day, I’ll go for later. Both are good titles.

What are you looking for? I haven’t read GOT but I know you’ll get epic battles and a great fantasy world. PJ is fun, lighthearted and easy to read.
I’m just about to finish the Legend series and want something that will keep my on the edge of my seat and also just an all around fun read

My son and I have read all of Riordan’s books. I’m pretty partial to Magnus Chase, myself.
