Yes, absolutely! I, also, had trouble getting into it. But I assure you, you won’t regret sticking with it.

I had to put it down! He has some good books but I just couldn’t get into this one! And I never quit a book but I did this one!

I find that I have a hard time getting into all of this author’s books. However, I have wound up loving the 3 I finished.

I’ve read 2 of his books and didn’t enjoy either…I just don’t think his writing style is for me.

Personally it was a letdown for me. A Man Called Ove “ spoiled” my expectations. I struggled to get through it.

I don’t finish books if I don’t like them. To many books to read and not a lot of time!

this is usually my philosophy, but I question myself when a book has so much hype. I forced myself to finish Life of Pi because of all the hype, and it was TERRIBLE

I started Life of Pi, hated it and didn’t finish…lol

Agree. I came to this realization late in the game.

Yes – it’s very powerful but admittedly I had to push through. Because I’ve liked his other works so much I stuck with it and I was not disappointed. The first part that is super dry will make sense as necessary in the end.

Yes, it is an odd quirky book, but worth the read. Why life can be so frustrating is illustrated well in this story. All his books are quirky, but worth it.
