I’m about 40 pages into Six of Crows and I’m having a hard time getting into it… I’ve heard so much about this book, does it get better??

@Kelley I wasn’t much for the Grisha trilogy myself

@Jenna bummer! I was really hyped up for SoC because I kept hearing people rave about how good it was and it was really “myeh” for me. I mean I didn’t hate it but I felt like I was slogging my way through it. Some of the plot lines were cool but it just felt like I was working too hard to get through it.

Following. My cousin swore by it and bought me both books and I barely got into it.

Did you read the grisha trilogy first? It’s not exactly necessary but it comes first in the timeline of that universe, I’m glad I read it first before six of Crows duology.

Hm, I’m sorry you’re not liking it 🙁 I loved it

I had a hard time getting into it the first time and had to put it down for a while. I went back to it a few months ago and am so glad that I did. It’s hard to get into, especially if you haven’t read the grisha trilogy yet.

It was definitely a tough read but I’m so glad I finished it!! Loved it. I feel like it would make an even better movie though.

I loooove it! But the audiobook version is also so good! I’ve read the hard copy and listened to it on audio and enjoyed both. It’s a full cast production on audiobook!

I finished in a couple days and I really wasn’t huge on it. Thought it was a little cheesy with all the romance between every single one of them. Although I liked the girl friendship in it

I pretty much hated the entire book. It was totally overrated. Not a Bardugo fan at all.

Thought I was the only one, due to the major hype this book has. I’ve given up on it already 3 times, and I’m still at the beginning :/

Yes. It took me 100 pages to get into it. Better after that.

The books are quite slow. I’ve noticed they’re not everyone’s cup of tea. I loved both books and read them in a couple days but my brother gave up after two chapters. They are very interesting but if they don’t catch your fancy don’t force yourself to read something that won’t give you any enjoyment.

I’ve noticed that all of Leigh Bardugo’s books are slow starting. it drags untill the middle and slowly picks up from there. but by the end you are very excited and cant wait to start the next one.

Imo no. I was extremely disappointed with six of crows, I think it’s Way overhyped. It’s an okay book but nothing amazing.

I DNF this book because I could not get into. I tried to skim to the end in hopes I it got better but it never did. I didn’t even try to read the next book.

I feel the same way! Everyone looks at me like I’ve grown 2 heads when I tell them how much I hated Grisha, SoC, and Heartless. I am not a Bardugo fan whatsoever!

2
JennaQuestion author

@Brandy I haven’t read Heartless, but I wasn’t a fan of the Grisha trilogy either
