I’m about 30% through The Passage by Justin Cronin and am seriously considering throwing it in the DNF pile. Opinions?

If you’re a fan of the genre, try to keep reading…but I’m biased, it’s one of my faves.
I remember it being a bit slow, but couldn’t put it down after that.

I hated it. You’re already passed the “good” part. Its so slow and boring and drawn out.

@Kimberly That’s what I’m hearing in some of the GoodReads reviews. That the first 250 pages were good. And then it just drags from there. Which is why I’m thinking of stopping now before I get much further. I like Amy though.. I wanna stick it out to learn more about her. But am torn because I feel like it won’t be worth it. Why does this book have to be so long?! lol.

I feel like you don’t really learn anything about the characters. It was almost like two different books for me. And I wasn’t able to find anyone in the second part that made the read worthwhile.

Don’t push through it. I used to get in a reading slump when I didnt like a “popular” title, like Strange the Dreamer. Now I DNF books and read others I’ve been anticipating. Soon you’ll discover a new series/book to love and forget the DNF’s?

*gasp* I love Strange the Dreamer. Lol

My teen age daughter DNF, though. She honestly doesn’t get why it’s so popular either.

Ah well!

100 pages are all you need to know if a book is worth your time. Life’s too short for bad books man. Let it go!

It’s one of my faves! But I get how it’s probably not for everyone. Bummer you don’t like it though!

I loved the whole series. Once you get to a certain part, the story takes off.

I had to push through The Passage and found it to be worth the effort. The Twelve was harder, but stuck it out. Despite considering myself a “completist” when it comes to series, I could NOT get through City of Mirrors.
