I’ll be vacationing in Italy next week! Any recommendations for good classics to read (e.g. set in Italy)? Bonus points if it’s about ancient Rome!

Lucky you ! Buon Viaggio. It’s not a Classic book but I really like the Aurelio Zen novels by the late Michael Dibdin. Funny , I don’t really like mysteries / nor series books, but I love his writing and the stories are all set in Italian and Sicilian cities.

This is the app I used to use a lot when I first got my iPad five years ago. It used to be called free books. You can search for it that way but I now see it’s called My Books. Looks like it has audio now too. But the main thing is it has only classics. Very easy search function by author or by genre.

Books by Umberto Eco and Alessandro Baricco are good, though some may say they are not classic yet ?

Call me by your name – Andre Aciman. Though maybe not a classic, but a beautiful book that makes you want to go to Italy
