I was evacuated twice in the last 12 months. Once for fire, then for floods. I surprised myself by throwing books into my suitcase at 3:00 am with the sheriff at the door. ? I grabbed my bible (had it since I was 8 yo) Be Here Now by Ram Dass, and SJ Maas – A Court of Mist and Fury.

I have more than 1500 books and i would better try to bring most of them. I would vest my time for searching ropes, plastic sheets and some floating object like wooden plank or easily available wooden cots instead of wasting time in bargaining with the favor of books.

? definitely my 200 year old Shakespeare collection. All my signed Dean Koontz books and rare editions, my husbands book about the sinking of the titanic that was published the year it happened. All the ones I would not be likely to be able to replace.

Flooding here where I am doesn’t get too bad. I’m in Colorado and I don’t love near any of the burn scars of either waldo canyon or black forest, so I don’t really have any flooding. If I lives in a hurricane zone though. … Hope everyone there can get themselves out of there

Although it may not be the same, I would take my Kindle and my Harry Potter books. I’m in Southeast Texas and I’m just thinking about all the possibilities of what this hurricane could bring and I’m looking at the things I’d actually take.
