No ? I’m pretty strict about my reading goal though. And it has caused me to be in panic mode at the end of the year thinking I won’t make the goal and then my bf yelling “yes you have! Just count (insert series here)!”

For me, it’s about reading NEW books not just books in general. But I am weird and I accept this.

You can. You read the book. It depends on your personal goals. I sometimes count children’s books over 100 pages, because I often read short chapter books to my kids. I read it, it counts. But others only count adult books. Neither is wrong, it’s all about what YOU want it to be.

On a basic level, you read it so it counts if you want it too.

I fully agree. If you read the book regardless of length, genre, children’s, YA, adult, or rereading a book you read it so you should count it. However they are personal challenges so To Each Their Own. Just have fun and enjoy your reading time ?

Yes! I reread books all the time! But I’m also a bit OCD. I want to be able to see how many times I have read a book.

Only if I read it all the way through. Every so often, I’ll reread certain parts and passages of favorites but don’t count those.

Goodreads added a reread option a year or so ago which adds to your challenge if you’re participating in that.

Someone once told me : reading a book is making a new friend, rereading a book is meeting an old friend

They even have a box to click as a reread and you enter your new start finish dates. My memory is so bad I did do a reread once and didn’t know until the.end when I went to enter it in. Some I intentionally reread because I know I missed key points the first time around

I accidentally just did this not realizing that I’ve already read it! I’m curious to see if goodreads accepts it or not lol. (Down to 30 pages left)

It adds it anyway, and marks it a as read a second or third or however many times you’ve read it. Doesn’t it??
