although really all i did was add an old book to a modern database

Haha! I’m glad you asked this. I’m reading a book of short stories and it’s not on there and I seriously thought to myself, does this count ??
You can add a book if it isn’t on there. I have done that with several old and obscure books I have read.

If you exclude English literature, goodreads is actually lacking lot of titles… if not almost empty.
It does because I bring it into Goodreads existence

May I ask a stupid question? Is goodreads a site exclusively managed by critics / journalists or by its members? How does it really work?
It’s really just a place to keep a record of your books. It’s not really managed by anyone. You create a profile and your own page where you add your books. You can also read the reviews of other ordinary people like us
