If you need to take a break from crime (blood murders) what other genre do you head towards? I personally like a good ole historical fiction.

Fantasy is my go to genre
Historical fiction especially fiction based on facts or real historical figures.
That’s a great question, Wendy, and my answer really depends on the mood I’m in:
Psychological thrillers, horror, and action are all good standby genres though sometimes I will head to the more quirky award winners, like The Martian.
Never: sci-fi, romance, fantasy or heavy literature (had enough of that doing A Level English at school!).
Usually a lighthearted female author.. Jenny Colgan, Danielle Steel or something similar!
I quite like a family saga like Gilly Cooper, though I prefer Jan Ruth as I can relate more to her characters.
Heroine Annja Creed a bit of a female Indiana Jones! 5 crime to 1 Annja! ?
Paranormal
I love sci-fi, fantasy, horror, dystopian and paranormal.
Recipe books . X
I love a good trial story although it usually involves a crime to begin with, or, dare I say it, a bit of chick lit…
Even though crime is my favourite genre I still read some non, fiction, horror and women’s fiction. I find it’s good to mix it up a little.
I go to Alistair Maclean and Jack Higgins for some adventure.
Legal thriller, historical and love a family saga
historical fiction, general history based books, currently reading about the War of the Roses.
Psychological thrillers, legal thrillers. The last books I read totally unrelated to crime were, A Man Called Ove followed by Shtum. Both brilliant books
I just started “The tea gardens” by Fiona McIntosh.
women fiction, humour, or young adult or children’s
Women’s fiction, started into historical fiction a bit more.
December Girl by Nicola Cassidy and a time to change by @Callie are both fantastic reads
Dystopian, YA and horror
If crime includes psychological thriller then historical fiction and contemporary fiction.
One of my first ever books was Guns of Navarone
I love Alistair McLean. When Eight Bells Toll and The Golden Rendezvous and Night Without End were my first three by him.
Sometimes serial killers, blood and crime gets to much.. Although I draw the line at chick lit! ?
Jackie Collins not sure why genre that would be!
Ken Follett’s Kingsbridge trilogy is a brilliant historical series.
Historical or non fiction usually. But I’ve recently read a few romances and romantic suspense for a break.
Chick lit, every time 🙂
Historical fiction.
