Persuasion is one of my favorite novels by her and one of the shorter ones if you want to start with a short one, but they’re all great.

Pride and Prejudice is the most readable. Mansfield Park is my favorite. I love the Sense and Sensibility movie, but I didn’t really care for the book. Northanger Abbey is not her best writing, but the story is fine. I feel like Persuasion is her most sophisticated writing.

P&P is probably the most accessible if you judge by popularity. It’ll give you an idea of what Austen is about. From there, I’d say choose by the titles you’re familiar with, and finally the unfamiliar ones.

Either Pride & Prejudice or Sense & Sensibility. Persuasion is probably my favorite though.
