I love her Detective Gamache series the first book is Still Life, best to read them in order. I inhaled the series it was so interesting and she remains one of my favourite authors ❤️

Agree with the comment below every time I read one of them I want to give up my life and run off to Three Pines!
I hope you enjoy them. X

It is best to read this series in order. Lots of recurring characters with life-changing events. Still Life is first.

I agree that reading them in order is best. Enjoy this wonderful detective series! In addition to the great mysteries, the characters and sense of place are so well done. You’ll wish you could visit Three Pines!

I just bought the first book when “the other mother” (my son’s mother-in-law) said how she was looking forward to this year’s book (which I got her for Christmas). She said it was centered a town where she’d like to live. Warm.

It’s best to read them in order. The constant characters grow, develop and change throughout the books. Also, there are events that happen in one book that are referred to in later books and have huge effects on the characters. Start with STILL LIFE. Enjoy

Read them in order. I still hope to visit her little hamlet this year, I have met/listened to her 3 or 4 times, and still find her books some of the best written mysteries ever.

I love the Louise Penny series. “Still life” is number one. If you start in the middle somewhere you will miss getting to know the main characters. And believe me, they are fun characters.??

Do start with Still Life, but be aware it’s not her best book. It’s important as it introduces the characters and relationships, but the series improves with every single book.

Good to know as I just though book 1 was okay and didn’t plan to continue with it. Maybe I’ll rethink that.

At the beginning! You’ll lose track of the main characters otherwise!

Great reads though!

Read in order! Armand Gamache may be the most honorable fictional character I’ve met up with in a
l-o-n-g time!

Chronological order. The characters change over time and the histories of the characters ate important. Still Life.
