Movie tickets
And of course books!
Our does gift certificates to local cafes, or Chipotle.
Gift cards (or product from) local businesses! They might even donate them!
Books r good, mugs or travel mugs?
Gift cards, cute bookmarks, book tote bags
Yes, approach local small businesses and they might donate for the exposure!
Oh how about some really unique bookmarks or book lights
At our library, the chipotle coupons are always the first summer reading prize to go. They actually made ones that looked like bookmarks and everything. Not sure if they still do that, but it was cool that Chipotle actually tailored it to the program.
Books are good, too. And if you can get some sort of ice cream coupon (even if it’s like a dollar cone from McDonald’s or something), ice cream is always good.
Tickets to local events or gift cards!
ours do gift cards
At our library we’ve done gift cards, movie passes, tote bags, tickets to zoo/museum.
Good chocolate
I got a really cute windshield sun shade last year.
Coffee, tea, wine baskets
My local library does an adult winter reading program. The prizes are themed baskets. They had gardening, baking, movies, romance, pets, mystery and audio books this past winter. They put in items, and books, that went with the theme and also things like library totes, tea and snacks. And each one had a gift card to a local restaurant. They also give away one fire tablet.
These are amazing ideas! I will pass it along to our adult coordinator ??
Our city-county library always has a free pass to the state fair as a prize.
We do awesome grand prizes. We have fair passes, swim pass at the local pool, and gift certificate to the zoo.
We need halfway prizes and I love the idea of approaching local businesses
Those sound amazing! Wish my library did things like this.
Ooooh also can you make like a “get out of jail free card” for fines!?!? Up to a certain amount maybe?
Maybe some coffee beans and a mug from a local coffee shop in the area! Coffee + Books = <3
My library did a summer reading challenge and I was one of the winners – I received a copy of Haruki Murakami’s Killing Commendatore – I was thrilled!
Tote bags or bookmarks
We do gift cards, passes to the YMCA, gift certificates to local businesses and attractions. I am the cataloger, so sometimes I save the digital copy insert from a movie and we use it as a prize.
Our library just gives adults coupon books for their participation and it’s the wooorrssttt. Don’t do that. lol
A gift certificate for maybe like $15 for a book at the local bookstore! Or if the library does book sales frequently, then a coupon for a free book. Or maybe a gift card for coffee
CaNdLeS cAnDlEs CANDLES candles
Free food
A book!!
CaNdLeS cAnDlEs CANDLES candles
I love my library but the Adult Summer Reading Program is the worst. Last year there was only one halway prize: a water bottle. And only one grand prize winner which was a book or something.
Itunes gift cards
BOOKS
wine to go with a good book ???
Books lol
Maybe a gift card to a coffee shop or office supply store near by.
Gift cards to coffee shops or thriftbooks or half price books if there is one near you.
Books, coffee, tea, gift cards (stores or services), fancy bookmarks, stationary
Maybe cool nerdy t-shirts too I’d looove that
Book theme totes
Gift cards! (Amazon, food, target…)
Last year I accumulated about $15 of fee waivers, that was better than the beer coozie! I’d love a nice book mark ??♀️
