I am reading the Great Gatsby following the Royal Wedding, never read it before! Sometimes it takes an event or something else to prompt us to try a new or old favourite Author!

I’ve read Gatsby twice. I hated it the first time but loved it the second. I’m glad I gave it another chance.

That’s an excellent novel.

I think I’ll read that next. I’m currently re-reading Look Homeward, Angel.

Just found free Kindle editions of her books on Amazon. Many books in the public domain are available for free from the Kindle store.

Next year, the copyrights for books published in 1923 will expire, and they will be added to the public domain.

Look what I just found in my house. Guess I’ll be reading this next. I’ve learned the hard way to check my own shelves before I buy a book. Lol

@Rachel Luckily, Amazon reminds me when I’ve already bought a book. My local bookstore, not so much. But you can always give away the extra copy.

Please tell us how you like it! After I read tenant last year I had intended to read Agnes but never did.

I read Agnes Grey almost twenty years ago. I love reading novels where the main character is a woman so I can feel empathy with her and relate to the story. The novel is largely based on Anne Bronte’s personal experiences.

I love Anne. I actually love her books more than Wuthering Heights.

I certainly perfer her male characters to those of her sisters’. Heathcliffe is bordering on psychopathic – Wuthering Heights is hardly a love story!
