I was thinking, if you buy boxed set do you keep the books inside the box or do you take them out?
I was thinking, if you buy boxed set do you keep the books inside the box or do you take them out? ? I mean I love the idea that I can buy a full series at once, in one box, and at discount. But the books are usually stacked inside so hard you cannot take them out, and when you put them back inside you need to take care to not damage them. I alway just take the books out and now I have collection of empty boxes which are pretty but impractical ?♂️
I’m too impatient to buy boxed sets ??
I usually keep them in the boxes and use the boxes as book end for my many many book shelves.
Since I buy books to read and enjoy them, and not to collect them, I would probably just throw the box away to make the books easier to get at. 😛
I suppose I might keep them in the box on my TBR shelf until I am read to read them. 🙂
If they fit easy in the box and some sort of attractive box, I probably leave them in the box. But if it’s a snug fit, that box is gone.
I take them out to read them and then very, very carefully put them back in.
I bought sets of three of WOT. My first couple reads through they went back in the box..but by my third time reading, they had to come out.
I buy boxed sets when I can. I like how everything is uniform: book size, cover art and in a beautiful package to store them in. A little time and care taking them out and putting them back in is worth the trouble
I buy boxed for the sake of getting the set then usually dispose of the box… Especially true if the boxed set isn’t the whole series like Mistborn era 1 comes boxed but era 2 doesn’t and I want them to match more than I want a box XD

Depends on how cool the box is… my Harry Potter box set is still in its box.. it’s a cool box lol

@Ľubo lol we just shake out all of the books to take out the one we want. Without the box, the image of Hogwarts that the books’ spines make isn’t as pronounced.
yeah, i’d have to say it would depend on the coolness of the box. you could always take them all out one time and read all of them and then put them all back in one time; it’ll be awhile before you have the urge to read them again, probably, so the tight fit doesn’t matter.
i have a friend who is at a book cover stand-off with her son: she leaves the covers on to protect the book; he takes the covers off to protect the art.
