Can I just be The Phantom of the Library? Dewey decimal system confuses me, and I can never decide if things like dragon stories belongs with fantasy or animal… I just wanna roam the stacks and read.
My mum was a librarian before she retired. She is absolutely 100% the reason why I love books so much and my 5 year old loves books too. My first bed had a bookcase across the back – I could just look up from my pillow and see all my lovely books all lined up. Mum has also brought countless good books to our attention and also introduced the birthday and Christmas tradition that I have carried Kev with my son and my nieces – that at the end of the day on their birthday / Christmas, there is always one last present, all wrapped up – a new book. ?
Hell yes. These are my baby’s and you must respect them. I’d be that kind of librarian. Actually I’m going back to college now at 30 on the education track for English so hell, maybe librarian is in my future. So excited!!
I started as a library assistant in 11th grade/junior year. Worked off and on through my first two years of college, till my chronic fatigue syndrome kept me from working. I’m still a librarian at heart so I’m keeping an eye out for online courses in Library Science and bought “The Portable MLIS” (Masters in Library Science) to get the schooling started! I’m 41 years old.
Why settle for that when you can own your own book store and read all the new releases before anyone else…?
I used to play libraries with my aunties when I was little. Never dolls always library playing!!
What a great idea! I’m going to try this with my 4 yr old niece – I’m thrilled she loves books already. I wish this had occurred to me as a kid.

Phantom of the Library is my spirit animal 🙂 Dragons absolutely belong in Natural History
Fr tho, dragons are always in fantasy
Dragons choose their own destinies. Do not mess with the dragons.
Best gig ever. I was fortunate enough to finish out my teaching career as a school librarian. It was great. Do it if you can!
When I was little, way before I ever found out I wouldn’t be able to work I always dreamed of working in a library. Surrounded by all those books
I already was and I loved it 🙂
I work at a library and love every minute of it. What a blessing to have found my ideal job, never want to retire.
In high school my dream job was librarian, working as a curator for an art museum or being an archeologist 🙂

It would be my dream job to work in a big old fashioned library with ladders that I could whiz around so I could look at the top shelves.
