I haven’t read it, but I’ve heard Alice by Christina Henry is a dark retelling.

It’s not an Alice retelling, but I think you would like the book Every Heart a Doorway. It’s about what happens to kids like Alice when they return home from their adventures.

Alice in wonderland is like my favorite story and I read Heartless by Marissa Meyer it’s not a retelling its more like a prequel but it’s soooooooo good

Theres a series that starts with Queen of Hearts by Colleen Oakes. More of the Queen of Hearts retelling obviously by the title but I love most stories that involve Wonderland.

There’s an indie series called Mad as a Hatter (book 1 of the Sons of Wonderland series) by Kendra Moreno. It’s dark (and sexy). The second book is being released soon.
