I don’t think I do. I have favourites from both genders 🙂
Jodi Picoult and Rick Riordsn
I read mostly from men… I didn’t realize it till now ?
About even for me.
I think I read mostly women, but then there are far more femal authors than men.
I kept track of it last year and definitely read more books by women but I also read more young adult fiction than normal. Usually it’s about the same.
Jodi picoult, Jennifer Weiner, Emily Giffin, Joyce Carol Oates,
I probably read more by women but honestly I haven’t really ever kept track. I go for good books and stories first.
Mostly male writers.
I’ve noticed except for Gillian Flynn and VC.Andrews that i remembered
Don’t care as long as the writing is good.
I’m an equal opportunity book lover ??
Doesn’t matter. Love books!!
I try and read more books by women as well as POC and LGBTQ folks.
I’m open to all authors, I like both
Nope
Men….John Sandford, Lee Child, Harlan Coben, Linwood Barclay, Greg Iles, C.J. Box, Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Joe Hill. The only female author that I ALWAYS read is Diana Gabaldon.
I really like Greg Iles..good to find someone else does, too!
I read both.
I prefer women.
I don’t have a preference, per se. I did recently notice most of my novels were by males. So I’ve made it a point to diversify lately and buy several books by women.
I don’t have a preference. I like the books I like and I don’t care about the gender of the authors! It’s probably fairly even, although possibly more blokes.
Woman. I read romance, paranormal romance and erotic romance and those stories can’t be told right by men. Lol
I prefer men, but I really love reading Tana French.
I also prefer women writers. Male authors don’t often get the tone right when writing female characters. There are some exceptions that I’ve found: Stephen King, Chris Bohjalian, Jeffrey Eugenides and Wally Lamb.
I read fantasy, mystery, suspense, history and other non-fiction, and I honestly don’t pay attention. All I care about is whether the book is something I want to read. I would guess it’s close to 50/50.
I prefer female authors.
Yes, I prefer female authors.
Doesn’t matter to me..probably 50/50
I read what I think will be good and don’t care if the author is male or female
I’ve read some books written by dogs, or even cats. (hee hee) JK!
And a cockroach!
That was ee Cummings
@Cesca Yes!
I can’t say I pay a whole lot of attention to the author unless it’s someone I actively enjoy and seek out
Since I read a lot of historical fiction and christian fiction/suspense I think I read more female writers but reading Richard Mabry right now
It is rare that I read fiction written by men.
I usually just look at the book itself….a good writer is most important.
Love Chris Bohjalian.
Love Jonathan kellerman, James Patterson, favorite woman writer is Patricia Cornwell, however, I too read everyone, if it looks interesting I will buy it. Think I have decided to start going to the library book buying as much as I do is getting a bit expensive. Lol
It doesn’t really matter to me. The book either pulls me in, or is set aside. I honestly have no idea the sex of a lot of authors. Lots of initials and last names.
No
No preference
John Grisham ?❤️
