Read that one. I love that series. The Relic sealed the deal on their books. I’ve read almost all of them

Stacy it all depends on what your preference is in reading material. In the last few months I’ve read some really enjoyable books. Jodi Piccoult’s ‘Small great things’ had me crying after the first 10 pages and taught me some things about myself. If you like Scandi Noir then I enjoyed Asa Larssen’s ‘The 2nd deadly sin’ so much that went and backordered ALL her books. Another Author I could highly recommend is Liz Nugent. Just got her 3rd released book. Loved her last two. Gripping. Celeste Ng’s ‘Little Fires Everywhere’ also a good read. Another Author I love (if you like to mix a bit of supernatural with a Thriller) is John Connolly beginning with ‘Every Dead Thing’. I’ve got every single book he wrote. Good luck.

I recently finished the Millennium Trilogy by Stieg Larsson. It’s starts with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. I really enjoyed them.

Thought the first one was the strongest though I enjoyed all 3.

I would agree with that, but it sucked me in enough to want to keep going…and the the second one was such a cliffhanger I HAD to find out the conclusion. I’m interested to read his son’s continuations, but I’ve heard the tone is totally different (I don’t usually let reviews influence me, though). ?

The Hearts Invisible Furies by John Boyn this is the first sentence. I loved this book. It was exciting, funny, sad, thought-provoking and I was sad when it ended.

Image may contain: text that says 'Long before we discovered that he had fathered two children by two different women, one in Drimoleague and one in Clonakilty, Father James Monroe stood on the altar of the Church of Our Lady, Star of the Sea, in the parish of Goleen, West Cork, and denounced my mother as a whore.'

1
Anne

@Mandy have you read The lost child of Philomena Lee? Excellent read and fires the blood!

1
Mandy

@Anne no I haven’t but if it’s anything like this one I will definitely try it. Once I finished THIF, I had a few library books come in at the same time that I had been waiting months for. Sadly quite a few are disappointing. When I’m finished I want to find another page-turner. I will check out your recommendation.

@Anne oh I did see this movie. It’s amazing people did this kind of crap and could be so cruel.

@Mandy book is nearly always better. The Help was the best film adaption I’ve ever seen to the actual book.

2
Mandy

@Anne yes I agree! Funny you mention The Help bc I’m listening to it on audio right now. My first audiobook. There are different readers for each character and have southern accents. I love it. I watched the movie years ago and thought it was very good
