I need your recommendations for choosing my next book. Looking forward to hearing your comments!

I am on the verge of completing Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harrari. I took it slow and savoured reading just 20-30 pages each day so that I can absorb and reflect on some of the ideas put forth by the author.

I always make sure I read something light after I read non-fiction. So I need your recommendations for my next book. I have three choices.

1. Girl on the train by Paula Hawkins

2. The Remains of the day by Kazuo Ishiguro

3. Wild by Cheryl Strayed.

Looking forward to hearing your comments!

How do you like Sapiens? I picked I up last year but haven’t read it yet. Is it anything like Lucy?

(This Lucy, for clarification)

I haven’t read this one yet but I liked Sapiens very much. The book put into words the thoughts I had in my mind. It made me think a lot and helped me ask the right questions. The book doesn’t answer many of those questions because no one knows the answers but I found the fact that a book was able to kindle my curiosity very satisfying.

Same. I have about 100 pages left in it. I put it down a while ago. I should finish it as my next non fiction read.

I had to read Lucy for a class in high school and found it fascinating. Sounds like Sapiens is another great paleoanthropological book.

If you want something light and inspiring, I would recommend Wild. It is an easy but still thought-provoking read. Remsins of the day is an excellent book but does not quailfy as “light”. And the girl on the train is just rubbish, compared to these two others.

The girl on the train is highly overrated, not to say rubbish. Choose either of the other two.

The Remains of the Day is one of my favorite novels, but it isn’t light at all (in fact I sobbed at the end)! I vote Wild, definitely.

I’ve read all three of those, and I wouldn’t call any of them light. I would recommend Wild by Cheryl Strayed as I thought it was by far the best of the three.

I was given Sapiens for my birthday. It has been sitting on my bedside table while I finish my current book. Can’t wait.

Loved Wild Inspiring. Sad at points. But it isn’t what I would call light. Because it is a pretty deep memoir about a hard life Girl on Train real page turner. Didn’t read the other one

I haven’t read the others, but I loved Remains of the Day. I agree that the subject matter isn’t what I would consider light.

Wild gets my vote. Very inspirational. I follow the author, Cheryl Strayed, on Instagram.

Of the three options, I’d choose Wild. But it’s not all that light. I’d avoid ‘Girl on the Train’. I don’t understand all the hype it got!
