Tried Rose Red and a few others my ex mother in law lent me. I always hear people say it’s hard to get through the first few chapters then it gets good. I have to be caught from beginning
This book was difficult. It really is up to you how you read that book. The crazy layouts are a comment on what is going on in the book at any given time. When he wants you to read fast he puts single words on pages. When he wants you to feel frustration he gives you a wall of text about some seemingly irrelevant fact. The confusion your feeling as a reader is supposed to mirror the characters confusion in the story. You thought you were opening a normal book just like the Navidson family thought they bought a normal house. I am still trying to get through the dang book a year later. And I can normal complete a book I. A fe days
Here’s a list of books I’ve read and books that are on my TBR: Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay, The Winter People by Jennifer McMahon, The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson, You by Caroline Keepers, The Visitors by Catherine Burns, The Silent Companions by Laura Purcell, The Grip of it by Jac Jemc, The Hunger by Alma Katsu, The Troop by Nick Cutter, Off Season by Jack Ketchum, Kill Creek by Scott Thomas, I’m Thinking of Ending Things by Iain Reid, Horrorstör by Grady Hendrix, Feed by Mira Grant, The Fisherman by John Langan, Experimental Film by Gemma Files, The Terror by Dan Simmons
I’m reading The Birthing house, it’s supposed to be ‘the scariest thing since The shining’!!
Is it any good? It barely has 2-1/2 ⭐️ on goodreads
A bit slow to start but I’m half way through and I’m gripped, I’ve never read the shining so I can’t compare but there are definitely some scary bits!

Which books of his have you read? Cuz there are quite a few I don’t like. But then there are some I find incredible.

I’m not familiar with that one. You should try The Green Mile or Pet Sematary if you ever get the chance. Those are my personal favorites of his. ?
Love the movies. I always want to give him a second chance he is a very talented man
Edgar Allen poe
I’m not much of a King fan to be honest, but I loved all Dean Koontz’s earlier novels which were more horror than they seem to be now.
