Of course. I still read it between books every now and then when I’m feeling down

Gina, let me suggest some Florida fiction…usually these contain a healthy dose of humor and you always feel like you’re hanging out at the beach!

I’d recommend anything by Carl Hiaasen. Dave Barry is also fun. And both Randy Wayne White and John D MacDonald can’t be beat.

Tim Dorsey is another good author. And Elmore Leonard (not necessarily Florida, but a truly awesome author anyway).

You should try some Christopher Moore or maybe Good Omens.

Two I always recommend: Graham Greene’s Travels with My Aunt and Stella Gibbons’s Cold Comfort Farm. Alan Bennet’s The Lady in the Van is also a delight. You want something like these—far off the beaten path.

im so sorry for your loss. please, please trust me and read one of these or all of these, even if you for some reason are hesitant – i think they will really help, and they have nothing to do with death or anything, they are just the perfect kind of thing to read when you are going through something… basically anything about the moomins by tove jansson. Comet in Moominland, Moominsummer Madness, Moominpappa at Sea, November in Moominvalley, et al. 🙂

If you want a chuckle, Janet Evanovich’s #’s series is laugh out loud funny. Start with “1 for the Money”. She’s up to 25 so you have a lot of laughs if you read all of them.
