I read them after growing up. 🙁

I mean, I have some memorized, or close to, but I imagine she’s looking for something more at a 10-year-old’s reading level.

Fairy Magic series, a lot of them are about animals. My daughter read the guinea pig one and liked it.

All series that I loved when i was younger! (and still do 😛 ) I used to refuse to read non-animal books…haha

There was a book I read when I was 12, called Cleo. It was pretty dark though, a real life story of a boy that fell in love with a kitten, and the boy was killed in a hit and run. Kitten turns up a week later and knits the whole family back together over time, showing them how to laugh and love again. From mum’s POV.

Actually not appropriate for kids but definitely a good read!!

Animal Ark series by Ben M. Baglio. There are 94 small chapter books about different animals, such as “Kittens in the Kitchen,”. “Rabbits on the Run” and many more. The majority of the stories centred around Mandy Hope and her parents vet practice, Animal Ark, in the town of Welford in Yorkshire. They used to be my favorite books when I was younger.

Erin Hunter’s novels. Their are the Warrior cats novels, her most popular ones, ones about dogs, ones about bears, and then the newest series about the animals of the pride lands. If you are confused about what to read first, if she is interested, look up the publishing order, ask a bookseller/librarian for help, or ask me. I’d be happy to help. ?

Dr Doolittle, and I think Narnia would be good too, lots of talking animals. There was a unicorn series I loved and I used to reread them at Christmas time too, can’t recall what it was called but unicorns are popular again right now. I second the animal ark series really good books!!

My daughter LOVED this series. She read them a few years ago from her school library and about a year ago asked for them for Christmas(she was 15 last year) So I am guessing she probably would have read them around 11 or 12. They were written by a veterinarian. I bought them on book depository individually but this box set is way more reasonable. https://www.snazal.com/us-buy-online-the-complete-james-herriot-collection-8-books-box—DEALMAN-U5-JamesHerriot-8bks.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIxLbx9cPb1wIV0rfACh31LgwBEAQYASABEgI8QvD_BwE

A Dangerous Life by Sheila Hamanaka and Pablo Puppy’s Search for the Perfect Person. You can get them for free from the Animal Welfare Institute in the US; I did a few weeks ago for my school’s library in Bulgaria and kids in lower grades, aged 8 to 12, are really enjoying them. Wayne above recommended Narnia and of course I totally agree, these are fantastic books for a 10 year old girl.

Redwall series, medieval/fantasy setting, animal characters, adventures. Misty of Chincoteague-wild horses off the coast of Virginia. Justin Morgan had a Horse- great story of the origin of the breed, story of a boy and his horse. Harry Potter has lots of animals, and is very fun. The original book 101 Dalmations is great!
