Used to be a middle school teacher…I loved reading Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli to them. Think it got an award. Older book, but my three boys loved it.

Why not take them to a book shop and let them choose for themselves? Time amongst the shelves is always time well spent 🙂

Because the only book store around me is Barnes and Nobles and their prices are ridiculous compared to amazon. Their is a used book store we visit every year at the beach. We keep an account their when we drop old books off we get big discounts on new books.

Ok, I get you. Could they maybe have a look on B&N then you buy the books cheaper online? Just a thought.

I find that b&n on line is mostly comparable to Amazon. I’ve switched back to Barnes and Noble in support of the the brick and mortar book store, as well as the concept of a bookseller, in general. Amazon gets plenty of my coin so im not worried about their viability.

My 6th-grade students are loving all books by Alan Gratz. Prisoner B-3087, Project 1065, and Refugee have turned them into avid readers.

My eleven year old is reading this now, and keeps trying to get me to read it. It’s next on my list.

I think they’d enjoy Crazy House or Confessions of a Murder Suspect or even the Witch and Wizard series.. All by James Patterson as well.

My youngest read the first two but never really got into them and my oldest isn’t into that type of fantasy. Bummer because I know so many people love them!

My go-to recommendation is The Extraordinary Adventures of Alfred Kropp by Rick Yancey. An action adventure that my son and I both enjoyed! I read the first of the three in the trilogy.
