The book is just… sigh like the Seinfeld of books.. just everyday minutae in a book so far and I’m struggling to get to the point where I can’t put it down. I made a commitment to my group to finish it

Reading for committment rather than love is my problem with book clubs. I admire your effort to see it through.

@Dora I looked it up, thinking I might join you/support you in your commitment but it didnt seem like a book I would enjoy either. Pick now what your next read will be and skim through this one so you can get to that one!!!

lol okay I picked it up at a thrift store and thought it would be a perfect book club pick ?

@Polly great advice. My book club has picked terrible books lately and life is too short to waste on terrible books. Neither of them was the $64 tomato by the way. At any rate I did not read them but went to the discussion and listen to what people had to say which confirmed that they were terrible books. Don’t tell me to leave the book club because I only do it for the social aspect. I read for myself

@Dora @Joan I believe you can be in a book club and not read every book!!! And still be a member in good standing!

in our book club there are MANY times that various members do not finish the book. Sometimes time constraints and sometimes choosing to not waste precious time on something not hitting the mark. Book clubs are about bringing people together to discuss literature not sticking to a regime. We inevitably discuss books outside the scope of the allotted book anyway so has never been an issue for us.

Honestly? It’s not the season for me to read too much… too many other interferences…at least, that’s what I say.

@Dora Oh that will be an effort! I wish you luck. Reward yourself with a fun and easy brain candy book when you’re done.

Sometimes I read books out loud when they’re not holding my interest as much and that keeps me reading
