I’m choosing to do my own book challenge. 40 books no series books. And I’m trying to pick from different genres. Poetry, historical fiction, modern fiction and fantasy. I really want to do the Gilmore Girls challenge but I can’t read 300+ books in a year.
My challenge has two parts, one is to try and read more than the 24 books I read last year and two is to finish reading the books I started last year that I put to one side. So far I’ve read two books, one of which is one I started. I’m now on my third book which is another I previously started, Origin by Dan Brown.
I’m up to chapter 45 at the moment, I’ve been off work over Christmas and have managed to get loads of reading. Unfortunately I’m back to work on Saturday which reduces the amount of time I get to spend reading.
The Divine Comedy…. I don’t think I’ve read anything more challenging than that… Not the subject matter, but the flow of the words on the page is rough. Probably be easier if I read fluent Italian… But the translation is tricky to fall into.
*copies this one too* Why not? If I can do multiple challenges at once, why the hell shouldn’t I?
Herman Hesse
http://goodreads.com/ has a year long one.
I’m doing an alphabet challenge this year- read a book starting with each letter of the alphabet
The Rory gilmore book challenge! Or, the 50 books every woman should read before she turns 40 (but anyone can read them)
The Gilmore girls reading challenge, there’s over 300 books on the list, a nice mix of classics and modern books.

I just finished Origin. Let me know what you think about it.

My own only challenge is to beat my 101 book challenge. -.-
