I loved that series! Have you read the prequel called The Turn???

0
Robert

@Mandy No. I decided after reading that whole series I’d leave it at that. Is it good, though?

0
Mandy

I loved it! I took it with me to the hospital when my fiance had surgery shortly after Christmas and was so engrossed in it, I missed them calling my name numerous times to give me an update on him! It’s about Trent when just graduating college etc and how The Turn with the tomatoes happened etc. They touch on it briefly in the books but I really enjoyed this and I actually hope that Harrison does more books touching on this period because things happened that I now need answers on.

1
Robert

@Mandy Oh! Thanks for letting me know. I might look into it.

0
Mandy

You’re welcome @Robert. I truly enjoyed it. Especially because I went through a brief mourning period when the series ended. It was a favorite.

Terry Goodkind’s Wizard’s First Rule….there are tons of books in that series and they’re all thick. Definitely only attempt if you love fantasy/adventure!

Either Outlander, or try Tamora Pierce’s books starting with Alanna & go from there through the rest of her Tortall books (there’s about 17 so far) followed by the Circle of Magic books (about 11 books), or vice versa. Also The Legend of Drizzt series by R.A. Salvatore I believe is currently over 20 books so far. If you want something nerdy with the occasion laugh & plenty of action, The Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne is about 8 books long with an anthology as well, & the next book is scheduled for release in April.
