Not sure if it counts as historical fiction (more of Victorian gothic, flitting back and forth from 16-1800s) but I’m currently reading The Silent Companions and really enjoying it!!

I can suggest two series for you. This is also my favorite genre. The Brendan Chronicles by Ginny Dye. Set in the South pre and post Civil War. So far, 12 books in the series with more promised. Then, my all-time favorite..the Kent Family Chronicles by John Jakes. It’s the story of the founding of America and beyond. Jakes is my all-time fav writer of historical fiction!
