If you want a really chilling thriller try Killing The Shadows by Val McDermid, it’s absolutely brilliant.

@Angela Agree – sorry, my post was a bit confusing. Another stand alone by Val McDermid is A Place of Execution, which was a slow burner but left a lasting impression on me.

I recently read Craig Robertson’s Random, told from a serial killer’s POV. And currently reading Lisa Gardner’s Say Goodbye, serial killer story definitely not for the squeamish or arachnophobes.

Otherwise, you can’t do much better for gruesome than anything by Jonathan Kellerman.

If it’s okay – I’d like to recommend my HellCorp series. The first came out last July and the second – The Man in the Dark – is released in September.
If you like thriller, crime and urban fantasy then it might be up your street! The Devil has to solve the murder of a man who took 40 years to die in the first one.
And of course would love to know what you think!

Then you must read Rob Ashman’s Mechanic Trilogy and his 4 book Roz Kray series! Scared the living daylights out of me! Some of the best books in the genre!
