Eleanor Oliphant is completely Fine, is one of the best I’ve read recently. If you want something brilliant, try EFBenson’s Mapp and Lucia books, there are 6, absolutely superb.

Enigma by Robert Harris has got me hooked. It is a novel set in the codebreaking centre at Bletchley Park during the Second World War.
