a monster calls, room, anna karenina (Kiera knightley), pride and prejudice (Kiera knightley), the fault in our stars, the help, gone girl, the girl with the dragon tattoo, the great gatsby, the little prince,…
So many adaptations are poorly made, I’d recommend The Giver, The Green Mile, The Fault In Our Stars, The Godfather, The Help, The World According To Garp, Water For Elephants, To Kill A Mockingbird, and I’ve read it in the comments – The Book Thief, Shawshank Redemption. I didn’t read The Wizard of Oz, love the movie.
Not without my daughter, Sarah’s key, Me before you, The light between oceans, The help, Nights in Rodanthe, Room, The white Masai, Jane Eyre, Under the Tuscan sun
The English Patient – the movie is very different so you get a new experience of the story (both are very good). Out of Africa is another. Blixen/Dineson’s writing is superb. One of the best opening paragraphs ever and they open the movie with it too, it’s that good 🙂
IT, by Stephen King. Then the movies, Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 next year. Or if you want something much shorter, try 2 novellas from Different a Seasons, by Stephen King: Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption (movie: The Shawshank Redemption); and The Body (movie: Stand By Me)
