Have you read That Last Weekend? Mystery/thriller

@Krissi thank you
@Sue it is similar to In a Dark Dark Wood by Ruth Ware, if you’ve read that one already
Award winning historical thriller about a female poison assassin in Tudor England:
I havent read her stuff yet but I always see it
@Krissi shes pretty good. In the Woods, I liked.
@Staci I will look into her again. I think she just had a new one out, too?
I haven’t read any of hers but will try her..Thanks
@Krissi yep. haven’t read that one just yet.
Yes, Tana French!
her book,The Trespasser,is a police procedural that is 450 pages long. Is it truly worth reading a book that lengthy?

oh! Lisa Gardner.
Louise Penny, Margaret Coel, Dana Stabenow, Sharon McCrumb.
I haven’t heard of any of these authors…Thank you I will try them..
Mccrumb is awesome!
Miriam Grace Monfredo has a mystery series based in Seneca Falls NY. I guess they’d be considered cozy mysteries, but they’re good, take place in the mid 19th century
I like cozy mysteries and I like it when there is a series..I will try to find her books…thank you
You may have to find them used, but there’s 6 of them, I think.
@Lysa ok thanks I will look on ebay..
R.L.Walker writes YA mysteries and @The is set in the carnival.
Highly recommend the audible version. So good.
Louise Penny, Cara @Black, PD @James
JD Robb’s In Death series is fantastic. Futuristic NY Police murder cop, Eve Dallas.

I’ve never even heard of some of these ladies. I’m going to be adding to my list!
There is a lot I haven’t heard of and I will be adding to my list too
You gotta check out Agatha Christie?

The Lacey Flint series is one of my favorites
M.C. Beaton – Hamish MacBeth series (also made into a BBC tv series).
J.D. Robb’s In Death series
Tess Gerritsen – Rizzoli series (the tv show screwed it up! ?)
Kathy Reichs – Temperance Brennan series (tv series BONES was LOOSELY based on the character), there are several character differences that some t.v. fans may not like.
And such a great person too!! She’s up in Charlotte and I’ve driven a few times from Columbia SC to her signings.
I love all of the ones that I know in comments; also see some I need check out! ?
It’s old and not everyone’s cup of tea but I have to recommend Agatha Christie’s novels, I love them quite a bit and some of the more recently made movies (I also found a three episode series) are really interesting and picturesque.
Tana French, Sophie Hannah, Morag Joss and Julia Spencer-Fleming are some of my favorites
Louise Penny is the best- read her books in order because her major characters develop and change
Her Pretty Face by Robyn Harding (out Tuesday)
Three Days Missing by Kimberly Belle
Every Single Secret by Emily Carpenter
What My Sister Knew by Nina Laurin
The Myth of Perpetual Summer by Susan Crandall
The Possible World by Liese O’Halloran Schwarz

Anna Lee Huber
Liane Moriarty, Ruth Ware
M.C. Beaton ?
Agatha Christie and Patricia Highland (I think that’s her name-she wrote “The Talented Mr. Ripley)
Patricia Highsmith! The Ripley books are so good. Some of her books are a little too creepy for me but still she is awesome.
Denise Mina. She has a few different series. They’re all good but I think the Paddy Meehan series is my favorite.
I wish there was a group for women who read female writers of thriller and mysteries … seems like something I could jump on board with
krissi levan…start a group and I will join..love the idea
Ruth Rendell or P.D. James
Patricia Cornwell 🙂
Colleen Coble writes mystery books. They are in the “Christian fiction “ genre so that’s something just to be aware of , I know it’s not a genre for everyone. But even so , it’s not an overpowering theme in most of the books. I’ve read about 8 of hers and enjoyed all of them! I would recommend “Without a Trace” or “Beneath Copper Falls” for sure
I also like Dee Henderson’s books. Danger in the Shadows and then the O’Malley series, so good
I will have to check those out!
Make sure to read Danger in the Shadows first as it’s a prequel to the series
Mary Higgins Clark, Lisa Scottoline, Fern Michael’s
Terri Blackstock’s If I Run series!
Love her books
Anne Perry, Agatha Christie, Kerry Isabelle Greenwood, Mary Roberts Rinehart, M.C. Beaton (especially Agatha Raisin), Louise Penny
