Miriam Grace Monfredo has a mystery series based in Seneca Falls NY. I guess they’d be considered cozy mysteries, but they’re good, take place in the mid 19th century
Sharon J Bolton. Good standalone books and a short series (lacy flint) from what I’ve read so far. Also love Tana French. I really enjoyed the book, I am Pilgrim, although not a pure mystery/thriller.
Kathy Reichs – Temperance Brennan series (tv series BONES was LOOSELY based on the character), there are several character differences that some t.v. fans may not like.
It’s old and not everyone’s cup of tea but I have to recommend Agatha Christie’s novels, I love them quite a bit and some of the more recently made movies (I also found a three episode series) are really interesting and picturesque.
Her Pretty Face by Robyn Harding (out Tuesday) Three Days Missing by Kimberly Belle Every Single Secret by Emily Carpenter What My Sister Knew by Nina Laurin The Myth of Perpetual Summer by Susan Crandall The Possible World by Liese O’Halloran Schwarz ?????
AGATHA CHRISTIE, Patricia Wentworth, Robin Page, Susan Wittig Albert, Kate Parker, Jenn McKinlay, Emily Brightwell, Catherine Lloyd, B.B.Haywood, Carola Dunn, Annie Haynes, Jacqueline Winspear – to name a few. 🙂
Colleen Coble writes mystery books. They are in the “Christian fiction “ genre so that’s something just to be aware of , I know it’s not a genre for everyone. But even so , it’s not an overpowering theme in most of the books. I’ve read about 8 of hers and enjoyed all of them! I would recommend “Without a Trace” or “Beneath Copper Falls” for sure
Agatha Christie.

Patricia Highsmith! The Ripley books are so good. Some of her books are a little too creepy for me but still she is awesome.
Denise Mina. She has a few different series. They’re all good but I think the Paddy Meehan series is my favorite.
