In A Lonely Place by Dorothy B Hughes, The Killer Inside Me by Jim Thompson, The Talented Mr Ripley by Patricia Highsmith, and The Far Empty by J Todd Smith.
“By Reason of Insanity” by Shane Stevens (1979). An older book but it’s an excellent story about a psychotic serial killer and the plot was completely different than others I’ve read.
American psycho by Bret Easton Ellis. In the Miso Soup by Ryu Murakami or the Byrne and Balzano series by Richard Montanari which are a touch lighter than the other two, on a par with Chris Carter tonally.
Really enjoying ‘the boneyard’ wasn’t really sure to start with, took a while to get into it. But can’t put it down now. Quite explicit at times, and a little gruesome, but gripping
My book is getting amazing reviews from genuine crime readers (i.e not just friends & family being nice) and I am enjoying having chats with them about how they felt the story went.
Dexter. He’s a charismatic serial killer who only kills other killers (usually other serial killers). He works as a forensic blood spatter analyst so gets his victims from the police database. Can’t remember who wrote the books but it was a fantastic TV series.
Book Title: Caught In A Dream Author: John E. Gabor Genre: Psychological Thriller Description: A different kind of murder mystery. If you commit murder in a dream, are you a murderer?
