Yeah pretty decent, but can leave a gap between each one. Tend to follow a similar plot each time so can be read almost as standalone. Historical info is pretty decent too and he tells you where he has changed things

They are but I would say that the Warlord Chronicles (Arthurian) were more like fantasy books – there’s a fair bit of magic in them 🙂

It’s very low key but. Not like there’s fireballs flying around and such.

True – all of it could be explained by trickery and coincidence – but I was thinking the other day that it’s still his most fantasy like series

I’d agree – prefer the warlord chronicles tbh but both are a decent read

He does it brilliantly though because while you could argue it’s magic. From the view of the characters it’s a naturally occurring series of incidents. But yeah. Not sure that makes sense ?. Either way I’m a fan of Cornwall. His Sharpe novels are great too.

Yeah I liked how he did it, great series and great characters. Sharpe also decent but similar to last kingdom in being a bit formulaic. Again enjoy the history lessons that come with them 🙂

Very much worth reading. I’d suggest reading anything Bernard Cornwell writes.
