Paranormal mysteries or romance? I much prefer the mysteries. Got any recommendations? I like Charlaine Harris, not just rookie, I liked the grave series and the midnight sun series even better.

I must confess leaning towards Hugh and Roland. I have a thing for the villains. But I really love the dynamics of Kate’s and Curran’s relationship : they are good together. I can’t wait for the next tome but it will not be this year. 🙁
Ah I see. Well I really liked the fact that he was a parent although a powerful one. He may love Kate and indulge her but he would take her down if needed. He’s just working to push her in the good direction. Well … The baby thing still bothers me a bit.
I love Nalini Singhs books and once upon a time I read quite a lot of paranormal romance/urban fantasy. However, I feel those genres are littered with to many badly written books and I don’t really have the energy to look for the good ones among the garbage anymore so now I mostly read anything new by Singh and other genres.
So, Urban Fantasy is based in our “real” world, like Harry Potter, The Mortal Instruments—there’s supernatural elements and even “hidden” places. High Fantasy is a completely new world, confined to the “flavor” and culture of medieval Europe, with no technology, but with its own unique magical system—usually based on actual European lore (fairies, etc). Does that make sense?
