I’ve sometimes hit a purchasing drought. Usually, it’s because the books I like tend to be published in the first and fourth quarters of the year, although I keep an eye out for those that don’t! It always makes me kind of sad when there’s no book in the mail that Tuesday.

A couple of days ago I forced myself to steer the car away from the book store. It was rough.

I’m sorry you’re sad. I haven’t bought any books for me since January (I bought some as a gift), but I’m happy about it because I’m trying to read what I own, and use my library more. Hope you find a nice new book soon 🙂

I am laid up from ankle surgery and can’t leave the house. Even though I have a few thousand books I have not yet read, a friend gave me a B and N giftcard. I was so happy when those books came last week!???

Yep!! That’s my issue!

I’ve put myself on a book buying ban for the year, since I own over 800 that I haven’t read yet. I’m exempting vacations (already bought some in France), birthday and Christmas (a binge is my traditional gift to myself).

For a YEAR!?!?! OMG, I don’t think I’d have the will power and self control for that!

@Heidi I’m interested to see if I can stick with it. I’m basically attempting to not buy anything I don’t need. I’ve reached a place in life where I basically don’t need anything else. Like, my faithful Roomba is going a bit senile, so I justify the cost of replacement. I ran out of mascara and am allowed to replace it. But no more Louboutins or Manolos or new clothes (unless needed for work) or books. 10 more months…

Same, it’s been at least two weeks and I think about my beloved Barnes and Noble about 100 times a day… ??
