Honestly no, I love being fully immersed in the book and I get to distracted with audio books

Does it come and go, or do you always have it?

I’m the same way. I rather read the book but sometimes I get distracted from that too. Hope you find something that helps!

It comes and goes in waves. There’s a calcium build up in my ear where your equilibrium is handled. My other ear is overcompensating and it makes the room spin. It can be really bad or not at all and last minutes to hours.

I went to my Doctor and he turned my head and body to make the calcium move. It worked after a few hours I was better.

Caty, if you have not seen an audiologist for this, think about going. They can often help.

I went to the doctor. I’m on meds, and have exercises. I’ve had it for 3 weeks. The next step is physical therapy

Have they taught you the Epley maneuver?

I have vertigo too and find that if I keep the page of the book I’m not reading covered and I use a plain/ dark bookmark to follow the sentences of what I’m actually reading, I’m usually okay. It looks weird to people that don’t get it, but that doesn’t bother me.

@Caty I’ve had pretty awful vertigo for the last six years and reading is one thing I refuse to give up.

I’ve had it for a month and it is the most annoying thing I have ever dealt with. Reading is the only thing that destresses me I will not give it up

I’ve tried medicine, therapy, meditation, prayer, you name it; mine has been persistent. It’s annoying, but I’ve learned to live with it mostly.

I have gotten medication for it but find sleeping it off helps me. I am bed ridden when I have it and even have to be helped to the bathroom.

I have vestibular migraines (migraines and vertigo). I find reading on my tablet is easier. I turn the brightness down, change the color of the page, and enlarge the font. Hope you feel better!

The above is very helpful. I had my first attack in a work meeting fell off my chair. Very embarrassing. Physio helps. Plus medication for severe attacks.

DoTerra Essential Oils. If you Google Vertigo essential oil blend there is a recipe. Works like magic! Get vertigo occasionally and prescription meds didn’t touch it. My brother has it worse than I do. This works better than anything else we’ve tried.

I get ocular migraines so I revert to audible books when I’m struggling

I have this problem. It has to be quiet and nothing moving in my peripheral vision.
I have to be very careful at bookstores where you have to tilt your head .
