Yes! I also recommend Michael Connelly- his books are good and will get you hooked! I’ve read most of the Mickey Haller series. You could start with Lincoln Lawyer and go from there.

Slightly left field, but the no 1 ladies detective agency books are a great series but not if you are after gruesome crimes!

Another one from the leftfield… The Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch is a brilliantly written, funny (fairly dry wit), sort-of-fantasy-detective type series… highly recommended – really enjoyed the first one!!

Wow you have a lot of great reading ahead. I love the Andy Carpenter series by David Rosenfelt. And the JD Robb series, set in 2050s to 60s, about a cop who is a real badass, her amazing man and the exploits of the criminals of NYC .

I can’t get off Jonbennet Ramsey crime analyses–the story it just so bizarre. But only the ones written by the actual detectives, like Foreign Faction or Who Killed Jonbennet Ramsey, are worth a hoot.

I just bought the first book in the Hannah Swensen series. My girlfriend’s mom loves them. They’re supposed to be super quick fun murder mystery reads, and I’m trying to use them to branch out into the mystery genre. 🙂

Coincidentally I’ve just got in after attending an author talk by crime writer Stephen Booth who writes the Cooper and Fry series. I enjoyed The Secret of Death in this series and will be reading more.
