I would not consider her books “light reads”. Some have heavier topics than others but her characters and attention to details make them easy to read. I usually have a hard time putting her books down! I’m currently reading one of her older books, Magic Hour.

The Nightingale is her best but I found all of them to be good reads.
Her books mostly feature female relationships – mother/daughter, sisters, best friends. They are all amazing and absolutely touch your heart. The Nightingale and Winter Garden are two of the greatest books I’ve ever read – masterpieces! ?
The Great Alone and The Nightingale
The Nightingale is a must-read. I liked Summer Island. I read Firefly Lane, and it just got to be too much for me. However, I know people who loved it! Everyone who has read The Great Alone has loved it!

Yes, I have read her book, Summer Island, a couple years ago. I really enjoyed the story. She is a good writer. I think I still have at least 2 or 3 books by her somewhere in my closet.

Is there an order to her books?? All stand alone?? Recommended order? Set to purchase a couple on amazon based on this outpouring of positive reviews but want to check.
Firefly Lane and Fly Away are a 2-book series, but all the others are stand-alones. Most of her books are contemporary fiction, but The Nightingale, Winter Garden, and The Great Alone are historical fiction (well, the first 2 are a mix of contemporary and historical, but mostly historical).
@Carri thanks!! I think I’m going to start with The Great Alone since it takes place in Alaska where we want to move someday lol. I love historical fiction especially in that setting. 🙂
