What was the last book you read? I sometimes find reading a book from a different genre helps get me out of the slump ?

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. It was SO GOOD. Highly recommend it if you haven’t already read it.

@Chelsey if you liked Evelyn Hugo then try her next book, Daisy Jones and the Six! Sooooo good on audiobook! Dumplin’ and The Hating Game have brought me out of reading slumps in the past.

I’m thinking either some good crime/thriller reads: The Ruin by Dervla McTiernan, Agatha Christie crime novels, Jane Harper novels, The Silent Patient, Shari Lapena The Couple Next Door, The Truth About The Harry Quebert Affair, Hangman Jack Heath, Liane Moriarty (just not Truly Madly Guilty or Nine Perfect Strangers)

Or some YA/Fantasy/sci-fi: Rivers of London series, 5th Wave series, Bone season series by Samantha Shannon, The Knife of Never Letting Go Patrick Ness.

Did you like the TV show adaptation? Bc I couldn’t stand it. I’m trying to figure out if it’s worth it to read the book instead.

@Nicci, I finished it last week and I loved it! I had watched the tv series first and had enjoyed it.

@Chelsey it’s not “scary” as such
It’s creepy in a creepy way (lol that’s confusing I know)
But I wouldn’t consider it overly violent. Just creepy

Maybe some short stories? I’m read Seven Stones to Stand or Fall by Diana Gabaldon. They’re mostly stand alone from her other books, historic, a lot of people basis, some war, a little fantasy and mystery and romance.

I have been too. Grabbed a book by China Mielville … Can’t remember which one … but I was intrigued by some utube videos he did so if I don’t get sucked too deep into face book… Gonna fix a bowl of ice cream and find that book to tuck in with
Found it …Three Moments if an Explosion.

I really like reading cozy mystery stories. They’re quick and corny but fun to read. Highly recommended Alex Erickson’s book Death by Coffee
